Some local movie theatres in our region are getting another update to make your movie experience even better!
Marquee cinemas in Huntington and South Charleston are going digital. The equipment is already in at the Pullman Square Cinemas.
All 16 screens will be fully digital by the end of this coming week. The Southridge theater is up next. Managers say you'll see a big change with no more cuts or black dots during the films.
“I think the digital quality, you do see a difference,” said Todd Coverdale, a moviegoer. “There's higher resolution with the digital quality. However, I think it does take away from some of the movie experience with the old-fashioned film and reel tapes.”
Right now, only about 3,000 or 4,000 theaters in the country are digital.
