MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - The installation of new turf at Milan Puskar Stadium is complete -- in plenty of time for the opening of West Virginia University's football season.

The new synthetic surface is called FieldTurf Duraspine, which is engineered to replicate the best things about natural grass with just a fraction of the maintenance required for the real thing.

Mountaineer coach Rich Rodriguez says it's the best surface out there.

The turf was installed by Ballard Sports of Cary, North Carolina, at a cost of just over 901-thousand dollars.

Fall camp for the Mountaineers opens on August Fourth and the season opener against Western Michigan is Saturday, September First, in Morgantown.
