"We Are Marshall" Lawsuit

The web site Courthousenews.com reports that the makers of the documentary “Ashes to Glory” have filed a $40 million lawsuit against the makers of movie “We Are Marshall”.

The lawsuit was filed in US District Court in California last week.

Huntington filmmakers Deborah Novak and John Witek are the makers of “Ashes To Glory”.

The copyright infringement lawsuit was filed against Legendary Pictures, Cory Helms, Jamie Linden, Mary Viola, Basil Iwanyk and McG aka Joseph McGinty Nichol, Thunder Road Film Productions and Wonderland Sound and Vision.

The suit alleges that the “We Are Marshall” filmmakers violated the “Ashes to Glory” copyright and remade the documentary as “We Are Marshall.” Novak and Witek are demanding punitive damages for fraud, breach of contract and unfair competition.
