The Lavalette Food Fair was robbed around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and the suspect was caught aorund 10 p.m.
The suspect ran into the woods behind the Sam’s Hot Dog stand, and police dogs are currently on their way to sniff for him.
The suspect was said to be in his twenties, wearing a ball cap and a black t-shirt with tattoos on both arms.
Police said he did have a weapon.
"I didn't know what to think. I didn't know if something happened, because there are a lot of kids who run up and down the road,” witness Marie Dolen said, “Really I didn't think anything about it."
Police caught up with him around 10 p.m. Wednesday near Duke's Place in Lavalette.
He was taken into custody by state police and Wayne County sheriff's deputies. Tune into News Channel three at sunrise for the latest on this developing story.
