A jail escapee has been spotted in Ashland, Kentucky. Police tell us Tony Artrip was seen Wednesday night.

Artrip broke out of the Grant County Detention Center in northern Kentucky Sunday night. He escaped through the roof.

Police say it's believed Artrip and his brother Chris Artrip stole a 1999 Jeep Laredo in the Summit area last night. He was later seen in Ashland in that jeep. Police say he has family and friends in the Ashland area.

Police say Artrip has a history of escapes and bank robberies and they consider him dangerous.

Artrip is six feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has brown hair and tattoos all over his chest, upper arms and upper back.

He had a beard in his most recent mug shot, but authorities say he shaved it off before escaping from jail.
