It was an encampment set up by homeless people along Huntington’s riverfront. It led to lots of complaints about the conditions at the riverfront park. But, today, the area referred to as tent city is history.
Th City of Huntington brought in bulldozers, trucks and chainsaws to clean up the riverfront.
The hope is that by clearing out the homeless and dismantling tent city, the perception some hold that Harris Riverfront Park isn't an inviting place for families, will change.
However, the homeless say just because the city isn't moving them out of this location doesn't mean they're leaving the riverfront.
While this area is still accessible by the public--that will soon change. The city will put up a fence to block this area off
