Mike Callaghan was once chairman of the Democratic Party in West Virginia and ran for the 2nd Congressional District. Richard Neely once served on West Virginia's Supreme Court. Now, both lawyers plan to start a law firm in downtown Charleston.

Neely & Callaghan will focus on federal criminal defense, environmental and regulatory law and civil litigation.

The press release from the law firm acknowledges rumors that Callaghan might run for West Virginia Attorney General or Supreme Court next year. Callaghan is quoted in the press release.

“It’s flattering to have people holding you in high enough regard to be considered as a potential candidate for those positions. Truth be told, my focus right now is just building my law practice. So, that’s what I see in my future for the time being,” Mike Callaghan said.
