HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A big, extravagant event drew in thousands of dollars for some of our smaller friends.
The annual "Fur Ball" is helping the Putnam Animal Relief Center raise money to build a new shelter in the county.
They need $500,000 to make this dream a reality.
Tickets for Saturday's event were $75 dollars.
The people working on the project says that though the economy has hurt their efforts: folks are still giving, and for that, they are thankful.
Before the fur ball fundraiser, the Putnam Animal Shelter had only raised $100,000.
