Boys Accused of Vandalizing Church

Deputies in Jackson County say they caught two young boys red-handed vandalizing a church.

It happened Thursday at the Fairplain Union Church. Investigators say the boys, who are 8 and 9 years old, smeared paint, flooded the building by plugging drains and leaving faucets on, and tried to set it on fire. causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

A church member walked in on the boys and called police. They were still inside when deputies got there.

The boys have been released to their parents until a hearing is set.
