A former employee pleaded guilty Friday to embezzling nearly half a million dollars from Whitesville State Bank. Karyn Lee Burton said she embezzled $495,000 primarily through a general ledger account that she audited.
US Attorney Charles T Miller's office says Burton had served as an assistant auditor and branch manager for the bank between 2000 and 2005. US District Judge John T Copenhaver scheduled sentencing for
October Eleventh. Burton faces up to 30 years in prison.
