More than 20 lawmakers, along with legislative staff members, are preparing to hit the road again.
They're destination this time is Boston, for a National Conference of State Legislatures meeting in August.
But state officials say their taxpayer-funded trips to out-of-state conferences are worth the cost.
Governor Manchin's spokeswoman, Lara Ramsburg, says the
conferences allow participants to compare notes on issues with
colleagues in other states.
Manchin, 26 lawmakers and two other state officials attended a Council of State Governments conference in Puerto Rico in June, at a cost of more than 44-thousand dollars.
Secretary of State Betty Ireland and four staff members traveled to Portland, Oregon, this week for a meeting of the National Association of Secretaries of State.
Treasurer John Perdue and several lawmakers attended a conference this week in Williamsburg, Virginia, sponsored by the Southern Legislative Conference.
The costs of those trips weren't immediately available.
