WINFIELD, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man charged in a series of burglaries in Putnam County could spend up to 120 years in prison.

Stephen Brandon Crosier was sentenced in Putnam County on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, Crosier pleaded guilty to seven counts of daytime burglary and one count of nighttime burglary, according to a court spokespoken.

Investigators say Crosier is connected to dozens of burglaries in the Winfield, Scott Depot and Hurricane areas late last year.

On Wednesday, a judge sentenced Crosier to 8 to 120 years in prison on the eight counts.

Back in 2004, Crosier was found guilty of hiding the body of Brandi Bragg after she died of a drug overdose. Crosier had wrapped her body in a tarp and left it in his yard.

Bragg was the granddaughter of Powerball Winner Jack Whittaker.

That man -- Stephen Brandon Crosier -- was indicted Wednesday on nine counts of daytime burglary, two counts of nighttime burglary, 11 counts of grand larceny and two counts of attempted burglary.

Police say Crosier is connected to 12 burglaries in the Winfield, Scott Depot and Hurricane area late last year.

This isn't the first run-in with the law for Crosier. He was found guilty of hiding the body of Brandi Bragg after she died of a drug overdose in 2004. Bragg was Whittaker's granddaughter.

Crosier said he panicked and wrapped her body in a tarp and hid it in his yard. He spent 30 days in jail on that charge.

In a separate case, a truck driver accused of driving drunk and crashing into a car full of teenagers in Putnam County has been indicted. Police say Breazeale Norris hit a car along Interstate 64 near Teays Valley in November.

James Robert died in the accident, and three others were hurt. Norris has been indicted on charges of DUI causing death and leaving the scene of an accident.

Another high-profile case that was among indictments released Wednesday included the case against a Putnam County man accused of shooting a woman to death over a text message.

Jesse Cossin allegedly shot and killed Angela Casto in February 2009. It happened at a home in Red House. Investigators say Cossin shot Casto and her fiance Nicholas Hanshaw.

Hanshaw was seriously hurt, but he has recovered from his injuries.

Police say Cossin became upset over a text message he received from Casto, and that is what caused the shooting.

Cossin has been indicted on first-degree murder and attempted murder charges.

The indictments in Putnam County also held the names of two people accused of robbing a restaurant manager outside a pizza shop.

Justin Graham allegedly assaulted and pepper sprayed a Gino's manager in the parking lot outside of the store in Hurricane. Police say Graham then grabbed two boxes she was carrying.

Graham got into a car driven by Brandi Bird. The pair has been indicted on charges of second-degree robbery.
