A Huntington Police officer who shot a man last week is back on duty. On Friday, the 9-1-1 tapes that recorded part of what happened were released.

Police say an initial review by internal affairs shows officer Josh Coffey followed policy when he shot Brandon Blankenship. Blankenship did have a gun when police showed up on scene and the review shows Coffey thought Blankenship still had the gun when he kept approaching the officer.

Here's an excerpt from the call:

Dispatcher: O.K.

Caller: But I heard him and the girl he is with out her arguing and he has loaded gun.

Caller: Hold on.

Blankenship is still hospitalized, but his condition is not being released.
