Kanawha Man Sentenced for Attempted Murder

A man from Kanawha County could spend nearly 40 years behind bars.

A judge sentenced Brashan Beverly Monday on malicious wounding and attempted murder charges.

Police say Beverly shot two people last year inside a truck off Route 60 in Amandaville. One of the victims, James Hensley is paralyzed and decided at the last minute against giving a victims impact statement. The other victim didn't attend the sentencing, but says he now suffers from emotional problems.
