CVB Donates $1 Million to Library Fund

It costs about 50-million dollars. Now, more money is coming forward to help build a new library in Kanawha County.

Monday members of Charleston's Convention and Visitors Bureau voted to donate one million dollars to the project. The money will also go toward renovations to six other local libraries across the county.

This is the first public group to come forward with funding. Board members say a new, improved library will help promote tourism in Charleston.

About 13 million dollars has already been raised through private fund raising. Leaders hope to break ground on the new library in 2009.
