The clean up continues from a diesel fuel spill that fouled a tributary of the Tug Fork River and prompted two local water plants to close temporarily.

International coal group is investigating how about 150 gallons of diesel spilled at its Blackberry Creek Surface Mine in Pike County Kentucky. A hose apparently came loose as the fuel was being delivered to the mine.

The spill caused treatment plants in Mingo County and Kermit to stop stopped pumping water for about 12 hours. An ICG spokesman says a fuel supplier apparently spilled the diesel during a heavy rainstorm Thursday night.
