Putnam County to Host Spring Clean-Up

HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Putnam County is looking to help you do some spring cleaning.

The Putnam County Solid Waste Authority is sponsoring a clean-up day on Saturday, May 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Putnam County Park in Hurricane.

During the clean-up, you can drop off anything from computers and electronics to appliances and scrap metal.

The county will also accept 10 waste tires on or off rims from each resident and household waste and furniture, according to a news release.

The county will not accept the following items:
propane and gasoline tanks
motor Oil
solvents
paints and pesticides
roofing materials
barb wire
block
wood
concrete
brush or fluorescent light bulbs
hazardous materials
commercial vehicles or contractors
