On Sunday afternoon, there was a lot of water in Ashland, but not from the rain.
A water main break on Greenup Avenue, under the 13th Street Bridge, caused some damage to nearby stores, and caused two lanes of traffic to close for a while.
Water was about two feet high inside Paul's Door and Window Service, causing about $50,000 dollars worth of damage. The owner says he moved his store to Ashland to keep it safe.
“I actually used to be located in Westwood, and I got flooded twice just from flood water in seven months, so that's the reason I bought in the city,” said Gerry Miller, owner of Paul’s Door and Window Service. “I thought this was over with, but I guess not."
The crew working on the water main break says they hope to have the water back on sometime Sunday evening. The owner of the store says he's not sure when it will re-open.
