MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- WVU has been on fire this NCAA tournament. If they keep it up, the blaze could start spreading.
"There will be some couch burnings,” Morgantown resident Chris Prigge said. “I don't think anyone will get injured."
Most students are away on spring break, leaving Morgantown relatively subdued, but High Street had a fair share of ecstatic ‘Eers fanatics early Sunday morning.
West Virginians are excited about the national attention that comes with the Final Four.
"This means everything for the state,” Prigge said. “Getting enrollment up, recruitment - not only basketball but football."
Chris Hall watched the Mountaineers take down the Wildcats on television. She and dozens of other fans gathered outside the Coliseum to greet the team when they returned.
"To get some positive recognition for this state is the most awesome thing in the world,” she said, “and I think the boys on this team represent the state really well."
At 2:30 Sunday morning, Coach Bob Huggins was signing autographs for the grateful supporters.
"It's wonderful,” Huggins said. “We love the people of the state of West Virginia, and we know how much they love us. It's great."
Now fans say the highly coveted spot on the mountaintop of college basketball is within reach.

I think that one trip to the Final Four in 50 years doesn't really say too much for this school's basketball program.
Hugs and WVU all the way. I think this time it will boil down to the size of the fight in the dog. WVU will win.
What seperates the WINNERS from the LOSERS???? The BIG SANDY and the OHIO RIVER!!!!!!! Bring it home boys!! Looking great. Two more games and we can burn the couches down in Morgantown!!!! GO EERS!!!!!!
