Sheriff's deputies say alert neighbors helped stopped a would-be robber at a home in South Charleston.
It happened just before 10 o’clock Saturday morning at a home on Myrtle Tree Road. Police say the neighbors say a man, who didn't live at the home, going in and out of the basement.
Several neighbors rallied together and approached the man and ordered him to the ground. When police arrived they arrested Terry Clay from Lincoln County.
Police found out that he was an acquaintance of the homeowner and knew that he was out of town and was trying to rob the home.
Clay is now charged with daytime burglary.
