Police in Huntington have arrested two people after they say the two tried to shoot and kill a man in Guyandotte.

Police charged Joshua David Hatten and Vanessa Reney Fields with attempted murder. Police also charged the two with misdemeanor fleeing.

Police say the shooting attempt happened at 407 5th Ave. in Guyandotte.

Hatten and Fields had an arraignment Monday in magistrate court. According to a criminal complaint, both Hatten and Fields tried to run from police before being caught. The complaint states that Hatten began kicking "wildly" and would not let police handcuff him.

According to a police report, one Huntington officer injured his foot during the arrest. He's supposed to be out at least a week.
