The legal mess is getting stickier for the man known in northeastern Kentucky as the "Duct Tape Bandit." The liquor store robbery suspect -- who's accused of wrapping his head in duct tape to conceal his identity -- has been indicted by a grand jury on a robbery charge.

24-year-old Kasey Kazee was indicted Friday by a Boyd County grand jury on one count of first-degree robbery and a persistent felony offender count.

According to police, Kazee entered an Ashland liquor store recently with his entire face and head wrapped in duct tape except for openings for his eyes and mouth.

Police say Kazee was tackled by a store employee in the parking lot before getting away.

Kazee is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.

The incident, since airing initally on WSAZ earlier in the week, grabbed international headlines because of the odd nature of the suspect's disguise. Spoofs of the incident have popped up on the internet. The story appeared on several news outlets around the world. Friday, NewsChannel 3's Doug Korstanje revisited Boyd County to see how all of this attention is affecting those involved in the situation.

I don't care what any of you say that was the funniest thing I have ever seen that was nothing short of hilarious and the final denial of involvment put it over the top... The man deserves an emmy and royalties for all the publicity he's pulling in and maybe with the loot he might be able to be a productive member of socity.... Common givem a break ((((( FREE THE DUCT TAPE BANDIT )))))

I agree with Amanda. It seems like the only time something happens in our area and it's broadcast over the air is when it makes us look like a bunch of idiots. No wonder people think we are a bunch of "hicks" and think we're ignorant.

I don't think he was striving for anything. I doubt he was thinking that far in advance. He wrapped his face in duct tape to rob a liquor store. Can someone like that really have a master plan? I'd say he is enjoying the attention, at least until he got indicted and realized no one really bought it wasn't him. As others have said, it is REALLY sad this is the only way the area gets attention.

Goodness. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I believe this is exactly what he was striving for...all of this negative attention! That's just completely rediculous, when there are more serious matters that can be brought up in the news.

Why is it our part of the country only gets national attention when there is a disaster or when there is some odd ball who wraps himself in duct tape and attempts to rob a place? Why isn't there any national attention about MTR? I agree with bubba... Dee T Deeeeee!

The more fame he gets, the more satisfaction he will get. Most people do such bizarre things to get attention. Odds are, others will do the same thing.
