She had her first hit at age 13.
Saturday, she lit up the stage in Charleston. Tucker was the headliner for a day full of country music at Appalachian Power Park.
Tanya Tucker had several hits in the late 1970s -- Delta Dawn is the one that probably comes to the top of your mind. In the late 1980s and early 90s, Tucker made a big comeback. She's also part of the pop culture landscape -- with a mention in one of Gretchen Wilson's recent songs.
"Well, Charleston's kind of special because my kids Presley and Grayson, their grandparents live here, Wanda and Jack Reed, and their uncle is Uncle Brad, who is on the police department. Uncle Burk. So it's kind of a special thing, I've been here several times as their guest. I spent Thanksgiving there once, so it's kind of homey. It's good coming back," Tanya Tucker told WSAZ.
Photojournalist Andrew Colegrove was granted a quick interview with Tucker behind the scenes. Watch the entire raw interview. One word of warning -- we have no idea why Andrew chose to ask Ms. Tucker about Sting getting back together with the Police.
