FORT GAY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The boil water advisory is affecting more than just cooking and laundry in the town of Fort Gay.
At the end of every school year, Fort Gay Elementary holds a "Beach Day" celebration for the students. Due to the boil water advisory, the annual celebration has been canceled.
The Principal of Fort Gay Elementary tells WSAZ.com that he couldn't get approval from the Health Department to hold "Beach Day." The Principal said he is saddened that the event has to be canceled, but is even more upset that the boil water advisory isn't going to be lifted in time to reschedule the event.

I am very upset about this cancellation of the kids Water Day. For years the water here has been nothing but trouble. I think the STATE needs to come in and clean up this town. Between the prostitution and the drugs and the water we do not have a fighting chance around here. It is time that someone takes a stand against it all.
