NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Water is covering the streets in parts of Nitro after a water main busted.
West Virginia American Water crews are working to fix the break, and they say they hope to have it repaired by 3 a.m.
The break is in a residential area, and the water is causing some minimal damage to yards, crawl spaces and air conditioning units.
A spokeswoman with the company also says they have issued a precautionary boil water advisory because of the break.
The advisory is for the following areas in Nitro:
Ash Street, Beech Street, Cedar Street, Dogwood Street, Elm Street, Fir Street, Gum Street, Hickory Street, Ivy Street and Juniper Street. Also affected are Kanawha, Washington, Dupont and Main Avenues from Ash Street to Juniper Street.
A news release says, "Customers are asked to bring water used for drinking, cooking, bathing and brushing teeth to a full boil for a minimum of one minute, then cool before use."
