Generations of students along with family and friends packed the pews, Wednesday, September 5th, for the funeral of Larry Matheny.
Mr. Matheny , who was 61 years old, is being remembered as a caring man, who transported students back and forth to school for four decades.
Reverend Basil Hudson of Leon Baptist Church said, "Every service, every Sunday he'd ask, "you pray for me, as I take my children back back and forth. And on the bus, he'd always hum a hymn or have a prayer on his heart."
In this busy world we live in, a small community stopped today.
They paused to remember. Melissa Tibbetts of Point Pleasant said, "There are people in this world who are nice guys, he was a truly nice guy."
