Charleston police say a prostitution sting Wednesday night ended with 29 arrests.
The sting happened on Charleston's West Side and East End. The people arrested face misdemeanors but police say they are hoping to send a strong message.
Two undercover officers from the Department posed as Johns. Two women from the Kanawha County Sheriff's department also helped out going undercover.
The department says they plan to do more stings in the future.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department says they have arrested about six people in the last two weeks or so in the Jefferson area for allegedly being prostitutes.
Sheriff Mike Rutherford says that they've also noticed more of this kind of activity in the Rand area in the Eastern part of Kanawha County.
Rutherford says that his department will also be doing some stings in the weeks to come.
