CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A bill was introduced in the West Virginia Legislature to make it illegal for employers and landlords to discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation.

Senate President Jeff Kessler introduced the bill.

Similar measures were brought up in 2008, 2009 and 2010 but failed in the House of Delegates.

Kessler says not having a non-discrimination act against gays and lesbians creates a poor national image for West Virginia.
