CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – After more than a decade, Abercrombie and Fitch is closing its doors at the Charleston Town Center mall.
Managers tell WSAZ.com the closure has been in the works for some time. The store is expected to close by the end of the month. Managers say Saturday, January 26, will be the last day the store is open.
Employees say some of them have been given the option to transfer to Hollister Co., which is also owned by Abercrombie and Fitch.
Abercrombie and Fitch did not return calls to WSAZ.com for comment. The Charleston Town Center has also not commented on the closure.
There's no word on why the company has decided to close.
The store has been at the Charleston Town Center since 2000. It’s the only Abercrombie and Fitch in West Virginia.
Employees say sales are happening now before the doors are closed for good.
