JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man and woman have been arrested after deputies say they found an active meth lab in a vehicle.
The Johnson County Sheriff says the discovery was made at a traffic safety checkpoint on KY Rt. 321 at the mouth of Southside Lane in Paintsville late Thursday night.
The driver, Shelby Barnett (aka Burchett), 23, of Lowmansville, was arrested along with her passenger, James Baldwin, 33 of Paintsville.
Deputies say the meth lab was on the floorboard of the back seat and that it was bubbling and very active.
Both were charged with manufacturing meth.
The Sheriff says that Baldwin was out of jail on bond from an earlier meth charge.
Both people are in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
