Arson Arrest Made in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man accused of intentionally setting a house on fire is now in jail.

Timothy Raymond Whitten, 33, from Huntington is charged with 1st degree arson.

It happened in the 1600 block of 6th Avenue, Friday.

According to the criminal complaint, Whitten placed paper under the living room couch and used his personal lighter to ignite it.

Whitten then ran away and was seen at the bus station.

He was arrested and taken to the Huntington Police Department. He is now in the Western Regional Jail with a $50,000 bond.
