BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- An Ashland man, who admitted he had taken pills, is behind bars after crashing into a school bus full of elementary school children.

The crash happened about 2:50 p.m. Thursday in the 7000-block of Johnson's Fork in Catlettsburg.

The Boyd County Schools bus was stopped in the road to allow a student to get off the bus.

Sheriff Terry Keelin tell WSAZ.com that Gregory Wilburn, 42, of Ashland, told deputies that he had been taking pills and didn't see that the bus had stopped and he rear ended it.

There were 15 students and a bus driver on the bus. No one was injured in the crash.

Keelin says that Wilburn failed a field sobriety test.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This is his second operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OVI) offense.

Wilburn is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.

He was set to be arraigned on Friday.
