ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Voters in Athens County, Ohio will have a couple of extra days to cast their ballots before the election.
The Athens County Board of Elections Director, Debbie Quivey, said they will be open for in-person voting Saturday, Sunday and Monday before the upcoming election.
"We have never been open in Athens County on Sunday before, she said. "So it will affect us having to have staff here. We already have that taken care of though."
The Board of Elections will be open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Quivey said that they usually use Sunday and Monday to deliver supplies. Now, they now have extra staff to help on those days.
She also wants to encourage people to vote.
"Exercise your right come out and vote," Quivey said. "We will be here this weekend and it would be nice to see some people come and vote early so it's worth our while to be here."
