KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Three people were taken to the hospital after an accident involving an ambulance.
The accident happened about 5:30pm in the 39-hundred block of Indian Creek Road in Big Chimney.
According to a news release, Tiffany Gregory was on Indian Creek Road when she tried to yield to the right to get out of the way of an ambulance that was responding to a medical call. However, due to the lack of berm on the road, Gregory abruptly steered left in an attempt to reach a driveway and went into the path of a van-style ambulance.
The ambulance with its lights and sirens on was trying to pass the vehicle and could not avoid colliding with Gregory's SUV.
Gregory suffered minor injuries and was taken to CAMC General Hospital in Charleston. Christopher Harper and Wade Cox were in the ambulance. They were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Gregory was issued a citation for Improper Turning.

Dispatchers are not sure if anyone has been hurt.
The road is closed in both directions.
