UPDATE 10/12/12 @10:40 p.m.
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A bank robbery in Glasgow Friday afternoon shook members of the community and put a nearby school on lockdown.

West Virginia State Police say a woman walked into the City National Bank about 2 p.m. and demanded money from tellers. They say she slipped them a note stating she was armed, although she did not show a weapon.

Cedar Grove Community School was put on lockdown for about an hour after the incident as police searched for the suspect.

"I was real nervous," 5th-grader Hunter Burke said. "It's a bank robbery ... we don't know what's going to happen."

His mother, April Burke, works nearby and said she was glad safety precautions were taken in the school.

"We don't know where (the suspect) went," she said. "She could have been around the building somewhere."

Students say the lockdown disrupted their bus schedules. Burke says she plans to make some changes while working in her business.

"I think from now on I may keep my door shut and install some security cameras," she said.

Police say the suspect got away in a white SUV that may be a Chevy Traiblazer, but that's not for certain. They say she got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

If you recognize her from the surveillance video, you're asked to give police a call.
