UPDATE: Woman Dies in Mobile Home Fire in St. Albans; Name Released

UPDATE 12/14/12 @ 5:30 p.m.
ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An elderly woman is dead after she wasn't able to make it out of her burning mobile home.

The fire started about 1 p.m. Friday along 2nd Avenue in St. Albans.

Family members say Geraldine Parsons was pulled from her home with a faint pulse but, unfortunately, she did not survive.

County officials say no working smoke detectors were found in the home.

Neighbors say this has left them in shock.

No word on what started the fire.

Parsons was 82.

Kanawha County Emergency Fire Coordinator C.W. Sigman tells WSAZ.com the woman was pulled from the home with a faint pulse, but was later pronounced dead.

The woman appears to be in her mid-50s.

When firefighters arrived on the scene flames were coming from the trailer.

Sigman tells WSAZ.com, no working smoke detectors were found in the home.

Kanawha County Fire, EMS and Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies are on the scene of the fire.

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A person is in critical condition after a fire in St. Albans.

The fire was reported about 1:15 p.m. along 2nd Avenue.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies tell WSAZ.com the person was believed to be dead, but medics on scene now report the victim is in critical condition. Crews detected a faint pulse and are attempting life saving efforts, according to a news release.

When firefighters arrived on the scene flames were coming from the trailer.

Kanawha County Fire, EMS and Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies are on the scene of the fire.
