MacCorkle Avenue in Charleston Reopens After Accident

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- MacCorkle Avenue in Charleston is back open to traffic after a single vehicle accident.

The accident happened just before 2 p.m. in the 72-hundred block of MacCorkle Avenue. That's near the Big Lots.

Kanawha County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the driver of a car crashed into a light post, knocking it down. The vehicle also hit a piece of gas equipment in the area.

The driver was taken to the hospital.

No word on the driver's condition or what caused the accident.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident that has closed MacCorkle Avenue in Kanawha City.

The accident happened just before 2 p.m. in the 72-hundred block of MacCorkle Avenue.

Kanawha County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com a vehicle crashed into a light post, knocking it down. The vehicle also hit a piece of gas equipment in the area.

MacCorkle Avenue is closed in both directions near Big Lots.

No word if anyone was hurt.
