UPDATE: Rollover Crash in Lincoln Co. Sends 1 to Hospital; Several Weather-Related Accidents in Kanawha Co.

LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One person was taken to the hospital following the rollover crash Monday night on W.Va. 10 in West Hamlin, Lincoln County 911 dispatchers say.

The roadway was closed but has since reopened, dispatchers say. They say the crash, which was reported about 9:15 p.m. Monday, was weather related. Up to an inch of ice had been reported in the West Hamlin area earlier Monday night.

The victim of the crash on W.Va. 10 was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. The extent of the person's injuries was unknown. The accident, which involved a pickup truck, happened in front of the Rite Aid drugstore in West Hamlin.

The West Hamlin Police Department is investigating the crash, and crews from West Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department were at the scene.

Firefighters say a female passenger was ejected from the pickup truck.

Two other crashes were reported in Lincoln County on W.Va. 119 (Corridor G), but no one was hurt, according to dispatchers.

In Kanawha County, Metro 911 dispatchers are urging motorists to be cautious after a mix of freezing precipitation had fallen.

According to an alert from the agency, "Metro 911 has several active auto accident calls for the western and northern parts of the county at this time. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution or avoid road travel, if at all possible."

As many as 12 accidents were reported throughout Kanawha County.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the region until midnight Monday.

LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A rollover car crash has closed W.Va. 10 in both directions Monday night in the West Hamlin area, Lincoln County 911 dispatchers say.

While the extent of the injuries was unavailable, the crash appeared serious, dispatchers say. That accident was reported about 9:15 p.m. Monday in front of the Rite Aid drugstore.

Dispatchers say another crash – a single-vehicle accident -- was reported about the same time on W.Va. 119 (Corridor G) in Lincoln County.

WSAZ.com Chief Meteorologist Tony Cavalier said sleet was falling in many parts of the region, and up to an inch of ice had been reported in the West Hamlin area earlier Monday night, dispatchers said.

In Kanawha County, Metro 911 dispatchers are urging motorists to be cautious after a mix of freezing precipitation had fallen.
