NEW INFO: Elderly Woman Found Dead near St. Albans, No Foul Play

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department has determined an elderly woman found dead near St. Albans died of natural causes.

The woman who was in her 70's was found by a family member.

It was originally reported a phone cord was wrapped around her neck. It turns out it was actually under her neck.

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department is on the scene of a suspicious death at the Indian Head subdivision near St. Albans.

Deputies say they were called to the woman's home about 9 a.m. Thursday after a man found the woman's body.

Deputies say a phone cord was found around the woman's neck. The woman is believed to be in her 70's.

No other details are being released.
