CLAY COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The fire at Clay County High School was contained to the corner of a computer lab in the school's career and tech wing, firefighters at the scene say.

The blaze started behind a refrigerator in the computer lab; it was reported about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The main building was not affected.

Firefighters say there had been a power outage during the day. When electricity was restored, the fire started.

Although firefighters managed to contain the blaze, the rest of the computer lab sustained smoke and water damage. There also was some smoke and water damage to the roof and nearby rooms.

The fire marshal was on the scene to assess the situation.
