CULLODEN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man is dead after being hit by a SUV in Culloden Tuesday morning.
The accident happened about 2:30 a.m. in the 2100-block of Route 60 in Culloden.
Sheriff Tom McComas tells WSAZ.com that the 40-year-old homeless man was alive when EMS got to the scene -- but died before getting to the hospital.
Investigators are not releasing the man's identity at this time.
The driver of the SUV will not be facing criminal charges and according to Sheriff McComas, no alcohol was involved.
Sheriff McComas also tells WSAZ.com that the 40-year-old was either lying or kneeling in the road just before the accident happened.
The family of the victim is coming in from out of state to identify him before a name is released.

The Cabell County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation.
