CEDAR GROVE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Three people are under arrest accused of cooking meth inside a home in Cedar Grove.

Police executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Williams Street where officers describe smelling a strong chemical burning odor.

Once inside, Lieutenant A.J. Roop tells WSAZ.com he heard footsteps coming from upstairs in the attic. Roop says he accessed the attic through steps in the back bedroom and found James Young and Brian Nichols throwing objects.

The smell was so strong, both of the suspects were escorted downstairs by police, according to the criminal complaint. Rebecca Ramsey was also arrested at the home.

Police say the three suspects admitted to mixing chemicals in a plastic bottle to cook meth. They also told officers they tried to destroy the evidence when they arrived.

The home was under investigation for nearly a month following tip about meth making, according to police.

All three suspects were charged with operating a meth lab.
