BURNAUGH, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The Boyd County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the woman killed in a crash on U.S. 23 in Boyd County.
The crash happened about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Burnaugh, Ky.
Deputies say Carrie Kirk, 54, of Catlettsburg, was pulling out of the BP onto U.S. 23 when she was hit by an oncoming car.
Deputies tell WSAZ.com that the driver hit the brakes about 20 feet before impact, but still collided with Kirk’s car, hitting the driver side door.
Kirk died at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the other car was taken to an Ashland hospital with minor injuries.
There were no passengers in either car.

Deputies tell WSAZ.com that the driver hit the brakes about 20 feet before impact, but still collided with the car, hitting the front passenger side door.
Deputies say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other car is being checked out on the scene, with minor injuries.
There were no passengers in either car.
Crews on the scene tell WSAZ.com that one northbound and one southbound lane of U.S. 23 are shut down at the time.

The crash was reported just after 10:30 on U.S. 23 in Burnaugh. Dispatchers say it happened in front of the BP Gas Station.
Dispatchers say they aren't sure if anyone else was injured in the accident.
Dispatchers say two vehicles were involved in crash. No word what type of vehicles.
