ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is in jail after police say she led them on a chase through St. Albans.
Police say they got several calls about Valerie Lane driving recklessly on MacCorkle Avenue near the St. Albans Mall on Monday evening.
When officers tried to pull her over -- Lane took off.
Lane eventually headed out Shadyside Road.
Police say Lane crashed her SUV when she went around a curve too fast and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Lane was released and charged with third offense DUI and fleeing while DUI.
Lane is currently being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
Additional charges are possible.
The crash happened about 5 p.m. Monday on Shadyside Road.
Police say they received several calls about the driver and caught up to the woman near the St. Albans Mall. That's where the chase began.
One officer witnessed the whole incident and managed to clear an intersection moments before the woman crashed.
The driver was not injured, and no other vehicles were involved.

Metro 911 dispatchers say she refused medical treatment at the scene and was taken into custody.
Police say the woman was driving recklessly and when they tried to pull her over, she took off.
Shadyside Road is closed.
