WINFIELD, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A missing elderly man from Putnam County has been found safe in the Hurricane area.
West Virginia State Police says family members found 77-year-old Ronald "Pete" Holston, of Winfield, about 3:30 Friday afternoon.
Holston was reported missing early Friday morning and a Silver Alert was later issued by W.Va. State Police.
Ronald's son tells WSAZ.com that he went to his mother and father's home Friday morning on Harmons Branch Road near Winfield. He asked his mother where his father was and she told him that Ronald had left in the car to see some of his friends.
Family members had taken the keys to the cars at an earlier time period.
Troopers say about 7:45 Friday morning he was spotted near the former Dow Tech Park in South Charleston. By the time troopers got to the location Ronald was gone. Family members say he used to work in that building years ago.

Troopers called family members to say that Ronald was in the Tech Center building -- but by the time they got to the location Ronald was gone. He used to work in that building years ago.
Holston is 5 foot, 9 inches tall, 165 pounds, with hazel eyes, gray hair and a white beard. He was wearing blue jean, and blue jean jacket and some sort of red hat.
Holston may be driving silver four-door Honda Accord with W.Va. License Plate NY8504.
Anyone who may have seen Holston is asked to call the West Virginia State Police at 1-304-586-2000 or call 911.
