ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A driver of a truck is shaken up, but not injured after a train hit his semi.
It happened about 10:45 a.m. Friday at the railroad crossing on 19th Street and Greenup Avenue in Ashland.
The driver of the semi worked for Murray Transport in Paintsville, Kentucky.
He tells WSAZ.com that he was picking up a load of train wheels and stopped at the tracks.
He said there were no lights at the crossing, so he went ahead, but when he was halfway on the tracks, saw a train. The driver said he gunned it to try to get off the tracks, but the train clipped the back of his truck.
No one from CSX would comment.
According to a Boyd County dispatcher, no one was hurt in the accident.
Traffic is not being affected by the crash. The tractor trailer was hit at the crossing of 19th Street and Greenup Ave.
