KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The driver of a tractor-trailer that overturned Monday night on the West Virginia Turnpike was taken to a Charleston hospital, Metro 911 dispatchers say.
The extent of that driver's injuries was unknown.
The accident happened about 8:15 p.m. Monday in the northbound lanes near the 80 1/2-mile marker. That is near the Sharon exit.
The overturned tractor-trailer did not block oncoming traffic, and the northbound lanes remained open.
As of 9:45 p.m. Monday, crews were waiting on heavy equipment to help remove the tractor-trailer from the side of the roadway.
West Virginia State Police troopers responded to the accident.
