UPDATE 9/27/12 @ 11:08 a.m.
JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Six people were taken to the hospital after an accident along Interstate 77 in Jackson County.

The accident was reported about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday near the Ravenswood/Silverton exit.

Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies say Tasha Mitchell, of Hocking Ohio, was traveling north, when she lost control and struck the side of a tractor trailer. The vehicle rolled on its top before traveling several hundred feet before colliding with a cable in the median.

The impact caused the driver of the semi to also lose control and cross the median before rolling on its side, blocking both southbound lanes.

Mitchell, and the four passengers in her car, Corey Cowan, Gabriella Calloway, Shannon Ewing and Paige Price were all taken to the hospital.

The driver of the semi, Isreal Ruiz, of Texas, was also taken to the hospital.

None of the injuries were considered life threatening.

Deputies say speed could have been a factor in the crash.
