NEW DETAILS: Two Children Killed in I-79 Crash; Names Released

BRAXTON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- New details have been released about a crash that left two children dead.

West Virginia State Police tell Amy King was heading north on I-79 near Frametown on Friday afternoon.

King lost control and crashed into the median.

King, her daughters, Amaya, Deja Birchfield, and her mother, Cyndie King, were all hurt in the accident. King's daughter, Michaela White, 12, and nephew, Jon King, 14, were both killed in the crash.

Troopers say none of the kids were wearing seat belts.

King was given a ticket for failing to maintain control of her car and not having the kids buckled up.

West Virginia State Police tell the driver of a car was heading north near Frametown when that person lost control and landed in the median.

Four kids were in the car. Troopers say none of them was wearing a seatbelt.

A 12-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were thrown from the car. They both died on the scene. Four other people were hurt, but their medical conditions were unavailable.

State police say charges are pending in the case.
