KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two West Virginia State Troopers are out of the hospital after being exposed to meth.

The incident happened on Lafferty Lane along Kelleys Creek in Kanawha County about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

State Police tell WSAZ.com the troopers were serving a warrant for Travis Hamrick, 24, of Pond Gap, when they entered the home and found Hamrick cooking meth.

Trooper B.K. Smith and Trooper J.M. Coleman were treated and released after being exposed to the drug. Troopers say the meth vapors irritated the troopers lungs, but they have been cleared to return back to work.

Hamrick, along with Shana Elswick, 27 of Mammoth, and Terry Romine, 44 of Montgomery, were arrested on charges of operating a meth lab.

Hamrick was wanted for fleeing in an incident last week.

Hamrick, Elswick and Romine were taken to South Central Regional Jail.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two West Virginia State Troopers are in a local hospital after being exposed to meth while serving a warrant.

The incident happened on Lafferty Lane along Kelleys Creek in Kanawha County about 12:30 Tuesday morning.

State Police tell WSAZ.com the troopers were serving a warrant for Travis Hamrick, 24 of Pond Gap when they entered the home and found Hamrick cooking meth.

The troopers are receiving treatment after inhaling vapors from the meth lab.

State Police tell WSAZ.com the troopers are not in critical condition, but the extent of respiratory injury is unknown.

Hamrick, along with Shana Elswick, 27 of Mammoth, and Terry Romine, 44 of Montgomery, were arrested on charges of operating a meth lab.

Hamrick was wanted for fleeing in an incident last week.
